TERMS & CONDITIONS

We love our fabrics and we really want you to be happy with your choice and the purchases you make. We print in England using the latest techniques and we print onto the very best cloth available because we firmly believe that only the best will do. We really hope you like what you see and please, if you have any questions at all do not hesitate to ask and we will do our utmost to help. There are some important features to understand when buying online, it is important that the Terms & Conditions laid out below are understood in order to have a satisfying shopping experience. Fabrics Linen and cotton are natural fabrics and have naturally occurring characteristics such as knots, slubs or slight colour differences. There may occasionally be a printing dot; these are quite normal and are inherent when working with an entirely natural product. These natural qualities give the fabric a sense of texture and enhance the overall look which we love, but we are also aware it may not suit or appeal to everyone. We always recommend that you request a sample piece of your chosen fabric before ordering. Colour is fundamental to what we create and every effort is made to ensure consistency and accuracy. We print to order so please be aware that your sample may come from a different print batch from the material you finally receive, but please be assured it will be within a tight colour tolerance. The colours you see on a screen do not always match the colour of the actual fabric and all screens vary depending on their settings. The Linen Ladder reserves the right to sometimes withdraw, discontinue or change a design without prior notification. Details of any changes will be on the website. Our fabrics are designed for interior decoration and are suitable for curtains, lampshades, soft furnishings and upholstery. Our heavier, upholstery linen has a Martindale of 32,000 for general domestic use, exceeding the British standard BS2543. Linen is prone to creasing so allowing curtains to hang will help the fabric relax. Care & Treatments Most Linen Ladder fabrics can be washed by hand or a cold machine wash with a mild detergent. Hot/warm iron on the reverse. However, some may be dry clean only - details will be given. Please be aware that some shrinkage and loss of colour may occur. Do not bleach. Do not soak. We do not offer a stain protection service and we will not accept liability for changes in appearance, performance or defects in any of our fabrics if they are treated, after purchase, by applying or processing of any kind, including flame proofing or stain protection treatments. Fading It is quite normal for fabrics to fade in sunlight but it is possible to mitigate against the worst effects of UV light. For curtains and blinds we recommend they are fully lined with lining and interlining or blackout lining. We advise that curtains are drawn back away from the window when not in use. For upholstered furniture and soft furnishings, we recommend they are kept out of direct sunlight and rotated to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. Please be careful not to use room or fabric cleaner sprays as they may contain bleaching agents. The Linen Ladder does not guarantee against colour fading and cannot be held liable for colour fading. Samples We offer samples (max 5) at £1.95 each with a non-refundable P&P charge of £3.50. Sample orders must be confirmed in writing. We are not able to offer refund sample requests. If a sample is out of stock we will forward as soon as new stock is received. For larger and international sample requests please email us at Print to Order Our prices are calculated per linear metre. The average linen width is approximately 130cm. All widths and pattern repeats are approximate. The minimum quantity to order is 1 metre. It is the responsibility of the person sewing your fabric to measure the actual pattern repeat before cutting. It is important to note that once the fabric is cut or trimmed, we cannot accept returns. Prices Prices are in Pounds Sterling and are subject to change without notice. Prices shown include fabric but do not include postage, packing or insurance. VAT will be applied to P&P and insurance. Payment & Delivery The Linen Ladder’s preferred payment is via BACS transfer (bank details will be provided on the invoice), or via PayPal. Orders and delivery details must be made in writing via email to us. We will then issue an order confirmation and an invoice for payment. Please double check you have ordered the right design and colour and that the payment is correct. As soon as you have confirmed and payment has been received, the order will be processed. We are unable to accept cancellations or alterations after this point. Our standard delivery lead-time is from 28 days. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to check that the fabric is correct when they receive it. Delivery charges to the UK start from £15.00 plus VAT for P&P; this does not include insurance. Delivery charges are subject to change depending on the size and weight of the package. The customer will be notified regarding any changes to delivery charges. All deliveries must be signed for. Please do not sign for the package until you have checked for transit damage. Should your package have signs of damage to the contents please do not accept delivery but contact The Linen Ladder in the first instance within 48 hours (insurance will not cover damaged goods once signed for). It can be useful to take a photograph of the damage and send it to us so we can help you to solve any issues. It is possible to request a damaged freight report from the courier which will need your signature. If goods are delayed in transit it is beyond our control and P&P refunds will not be given. Trade We enjoy working with interior designers and other interior based businesses who wish to purchase from us. This facility is only available when we have received and confirmed legitimate business details. Please contact us for further information. International Customers We would love to fulfil any international purchase. Please contact us via email at and we will make every effort to help you. It is the customers responsibility to be aware of and pay: import duty, customs or local fees, taxes or levies that may apply. Returns All fabrics are checked carefully by us prior to being sent out to the customer. We always recommend that you check the fabric before cutting as it is vital that no length be cut, washed, altered or sewn as, should there be an issue, it may invalidate any claim for a refund. Our fabrics are ordered as bespoke so unless faulty we cannot accept returns. Sample or sale fabrics or goods are not eligible for exchanges, returns or refunds. Faults In the rare event of your fabric having a fault please let us know in writing within 7 days of receipt of the fabric. A refund or exchange will only be made once checked and determined by us to be applicable. Return postage and packing costs will be the responsibility of the customer. Delivery charges are subject to VAT and are non-refundable unless the product has been mutually agreed to be faulty. The Linen Ladder will only refund the customer’s return postage when provided with their proof of postage costs. Note that customer returns must be ‘signed for’ postage to enable safe return to The Linen Ladder. The Linen Ladder cannot be held responsible for any items that are declared to be ‘lost in the post’. Third Party If the goods are to be sent directly to a third party (curtain maker, upholsterer etc.) the customer must supply in writing via email the correct name, address and contact number of the third party prior to despatch. Where deliveries are made to third parties it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the correct material (design, colour and quantity) is received. We cannot accept claims after the fabric has been trimmed, cut, sewn or altered in any way. No claims will be accepted in respect of any costs of making up. Liability All goods are supplied by us on the condition that our liability for any fault or defect in the quality, condition or fitness of purpose is limited in amount to a sum not exceeding the purchase price of the particular goods. Under no circumstances whatsoever shall the company (The Linen Ladder Ltd) be liable for indirect or consequential loss or damage.
