OUR FABRICS Our linen Only the best will do. The linen fabric we use has an enviable provenance which guarantees quality and authenticity. The flax that is the fibre grows in the fields of Flanders and is known to be the best in the world. Sustainability, responsibility & durability We endeavour to be as friendly to our environment as possible; it is where our inspiration comes from and is therefore vital to us, this is why we have chosen this particular linen as our base-cloth for printing. Linen tells an ancient story and continues to be the most sustainable of raw materials. As the flax crop grows it requires nothing more than sunshine and rainwater. By choosing our linen you are opting for the ultimate fabric that leaves no waste and has a very small footprint to your door. It is natural. It is simple. It is durable. It is CO 2 neutral. That is what we offer; a natural product married with simple designs combining to make stylish, colourful fabrics that will last for years. We print all our fabrics to order in England to the highest standard with as little waste and hardship to the environment as possible, using modern highly specified printing techniques. Our linen is meant for interior design and can be used to make curtains, lampshades, soft furnishings and upholstery. Our heavier, upholstery linen has a Martindale of 32,000 making it entirely suitable for general domestic use and exceeds the British standard BS2543. Things you need to know before you buy Linen is a natural fabric and has naturally occurring characteristics such as knots or subtle colour differences. You may occasionally notice a printing dot. These are not faults but the charming idiosyncrasies of a completely natural fabric. We feel this gives the fabric a sense of texture which we love, but we are also aware it may not suit or appeal to everyone. We always recommend that you request a sample of your chosen fabric before ordering. Remember colours on a screen do not always match the colour on the actual fabric and all screens vary, depending on their settings.
